Thousands of costume-clad, Christmas enthusiasts made merry throughout Hoboken Saturday as the city once again played host to SantaCon.

Dressed as Santa Claus, elves, reindeer and other festive attire, attendees wandered Hoboken's streets, visiting the city's local pubs and eateries. SantaCon is a charitable bar crawl that takes place in a number of cities all over the country. Participants register online, obtain a wristband and then spend the day dressed as Santa or other Christmas characters. The wristbands give the attendees discounts on alcoholic beverages at participating bars. In addition, a portion of each ticket goes towards local charities.

Many of those who braved the frigid temperatures to attend Saturday's SantaCon event in Hoboken documented the festivities on social media, especially Twitter.

Here are some of the tweets and images from the day.

This guy who "knows" Santa (and has probably watched "Elf" too many times)

Is it a beard or is it a scarf? Doesn't matter, a little cold weather didn't stop these SantaCon fans!

This looks like a good place to warm up.

Because "ugly sweaters" are totally a "thing" right now, and this guy nailed it.

Because Hoboken is a "fun city."

Got Christmas spirit?

These guys, who are clearly ready to get the SantaCon party started.

Santa Claus, a Mexican-clad guy, two snowmen and a reindeer walk into a bar....

Because...reindeer games!

Just hoping the Grinch didn't find her.

"The calm before the SantaCon storm."
