Devastation everywhere…whole towns underwater…lives uprooted…perhaps the last thing on your mind is Christmas.

Here I thought, when I saw this

about Santa coming to Moorestown and Cherry Hill malls was, “…Jesus, so soon?”

Ol’ St. Nick, Mrs. Claus and their stable of elves will arrive at the Moorestown Mall 6:30 p.m. Friday, parading to his holiday home in Macy’s Court to the sound of classic holiday music.

On Saturday, Santa is expected to drop in at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Cherry Hill for breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., dining alongside Mrs. Claus, Larry the Musical Elf, a magical nutcracker, toy soldiers, and possibly you.

So maybe you’re a little conflicted like me. On one hand, who knows what kind of Christmas it’s going to be if you have no home?

But on the other, maybe that’s the reason we need it now more than ever.

Put aside all the politically correct bs for a moment and think of the respite that the thought of Christmas brings.

Now tell me if you feel it’s too early to catch a glimpse of Santa at the mall.

Yeah, I know, it's all about commercialism...but still I would think it would give you a moment’s reprieve from all the madness of the last couple of weeks.

And, after all, kids didn’t have much of a Halloween to speak of this year anyway!

So does it piss you off when you see those Christmas displays up so soon, especially in light of the fact that we're still trying to get back on track after Sandy?
