This Day In Music History
1965 – The Yardbirds appear at The City Hall, Salisbury, England. Admission is just 10 shillings, or $1.40. This is one of their last gigs with Jeff Beck on guitar, within a week he would leave the band and be replaced by a young Jimmy Page.
1979 – The Knack contribute to the catchy, slightly annoying songs which get stuck in your head list, with their release of “My Sharona”.
1984 – Duran Duran started a two week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘The Reflex’, the group’s first US No.1 single.
1990 – Keith Sorrentino files a $500,000 lawsuit against Madonna. The 13-year-old boy claimed he suffered nightmares and bed-wetting problems after an incident outside Madonna’s home where she allegedly flung him to the ground.
