1969 - George Harrison's hits a milestone in his career when his song 'Something' was released as the "A" side of a Beatles' 45, a first for Harrison. Along with Lennon and McCartney's Come Together, the single went on to reach No.1 on the singles chart in the following month.

1979 - Bob Dylan scores another top 40 hit today with 'Gotta Serve Somebody' making it his twelfth to date. It was ecorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama and would win Dylan the Grammy Award for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a male in 1980.

1991 - Michael Jackson gives away Elizabeth Taylor for marriage to construction worker Larry Fortensky at her seventh wedding. It was held at Jackson's Neverland Ranch. Their marriage would last 6 years.

2007 - Bruce Springsteen is being sued for $850,000. A man claims he backed out of a contract to buy a horse named Pavarotti. Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa were both named in legal documents filed in Florida by Todd Minikus who claimed the couple pulled out of a deal to pay $650,000 for said horse.
