1966 – Donovan hits No.1 on the US singles chart and No.2 in the UK with ‘Sunshine Superman’. Written for his soon to be wife Linda Lawrence, the track featured Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page who at the time was a member of the Yardbirds.
1978 – A Taste of Honey is at No.1 today with ‘Boogie Oogie Oogie’. They would go on to win a Grammy later in the year for best new artist.
1982 – Funded by Steve Wozniak of Apple Computers, a three day music festival in San Bernardino kicks off. Tom Petty, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, The Cars, Talking Heads, The Kinks, B52′s, Pat Benatar, and Jackson Browne are just a few of the scheduled performances.
2002 – $224.00 buys you the best seats in the house for the opening night of The Rolling Stones’ 40th anniversary Licks tour which kicks off in Boston. They would finish the tour after playing over 100 shows to over 2.5m fans worldwide.
