1962 – Ringo Starr makes his first appearance with The Beatles and with that, the Beatles as we know them are finally complete. It was at the Horticultural Society dance in England after having a two-hour rehearsal in preparation.
1976 – It’s being reported that Marvin Gaye is facing two consecutive five day prison terms in LA county jail for contempt of court after failing to pay alimony and child support.
1984 – George Michael becomes the first person ever to hit No.1 as a solo artist and member of a band at the same time. It was today when his single ‘Careless Whisper’ went to No.1 in the U.K, but it was a success on both sides of the Atlantic. It reached number one in nearly 25 countries and sold close to six million copies worldwide.
1986 – Bon Jovi releases their third studio album, Slippery When Wet, which would hit No.1 on the charts, going on to sell over 28 million copies worldwide. The set featured two New Jersey favorites, ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’, and ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’.
