1968The Byrds leave to tour in South Africa. However, they are down one ‘Byrd’ as Gram Parsons decides not to play in protest of the South African apartheid.

1974Mamas And The Papas singer Cass Elliot dies at the young age of 32 in her sleep from a heart attack. She had just played a sold out show in London, England. She was staying at Harry Nilson’s London flat when she died.

1990Elton John seeks treatment for an addiction problem and also for his eating disorder, bulimia. The singer checked into a Chicago clinic taking over a year off from touring and recording to get better.

2004 – Keyboard player Huby Heard died from heart problems. He had worked with Billy PrestonTeddy Pendergrass, Ray Charles, The Rolling Stones and Bill Wyman.
