TEWKSBURY, Mass. — Hell hath no fury like a Jersey Girl who has to pump her own gas.

Tewksbury, Massachusetts police said a New Jersey woman, whose identity was not disclosed, was pumping gas on April 1 when William Tighe got into the car on the driver's side and closed the door.

In a video released by police, the woman goes to the door and sprays it with gasoline from the nozzle as she tries to open the door and pull Tighe out of the car.

Tighe pulls away from the pump with the woman hanging from the door. The falls to the ground as he turns left and heads toward the exit and onto nearby highway Route 495.

Police gave a brief chase and found her vehicle in neighboring Lowell, but Tighe got away, according to police.

Tighe was found on April 5 and made his first court appearance on Tuesday, according to the Lowell Sun, which reported he has 55 prior convictions including 23 for violent crimes.

Boston television station WHDH identified the woman as Zoila Peguero, who said she was in Massachusetts for a funeral and thought Tighe was an employee of the gas station. She posted Tighe's picture on her Facebook page with the caption "Captured!  Crime does not pay."
