Think Nepotism Doesn’t Exist in NJ Politics any Longer? Think Again
Just when you thought it was almost safe to any faith in NJ politics, you read a story like this one.
According to a report, Jersey City Councilman, Bill Gaughan's daughter Eileen, will be named as his council aide. The part-time job pays an annual salary of $15,000.
Eileen Gaughan already has a job, working for her father at his OTHER position, where he is the county chief of staff. At that job, Eileen Gaughan makes $59,800 as the assistant director for the Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs/Tourism.
Think the nepotism stops there? Nope, it only gets better.
If Eileen Gaughan gets the nod for the aide position, she would replace her sister, Bridget Ludlow, who just recently resigned after working for her dad for almost a decade.
Folks, you just can't make this stuff up. It's good to see nepotism is still alive and well in NJ politics.
