A video that made the rounds a few years ago was brought up on the show yesterday. It was of a woman so glued to her cell phone texting as she walked like a zombie through a mall that she accidentally falls headfirst into a fountain. There was brief speculation if it had been real. But looking into it, it would appear so. It was widely reported at the time and I can't find anything that ever refuted it, and she was named and even later quoted.

It happened at a mall in Pennsylvania. The woman, Cathy Cruz Marrero, later was quoted complaining about security, saying, “My issue is I don’t think security was professional because they didn’t send anyone to check on me until 20 minutes later and I had already left. Instead of laughing, they should have said, ‘Is she OK?’ and been down there right away to check on me." Yeah, our issue is don't get mad at other people for your own obsessive distraction. I wonder how that cell phone made it through the sudden bath it took?
