The Record: GWB Closures Kept Medics from Patients
The Record is reporting that responders to four medical emergencies were delayed by the September traffic backups triggered by the now-famous 'Bridgegate' lane closures at the George Washington Bridge.
The report, posted on NorthJersey.com, cites a Sept. 10 letter from the borough's EMS coordinator to Mayor Mark Sokolich.
In one of the four cases, a 91-year woman was unconscious, the paper reported. She later died, though it is not known whether her death resulted directly from the delay.
According to the report, response times during the traffic backups more than doubled.
