After three days in office, President Trump has an approval rating of 45 percent, according to a Gallup survey.

I didn't even think anyone would take an approval rating after only three days. It usually takes me that long just to find the men's room and coffee maker in a new job. Regardless, I compared our new president's rating to those of some of the more popular movies made or set in New Jersey. The ratings were taken from Rotten Tomatoes, using the "tomatometer."

Based on their numbers, the President's 45 percent approval rating actually "Trumps" several movies, including...

  • "Artie Lange's Beer League" - 27 percent
  • "Coyote Ugly" - 22 percent
  • "The Day The Earth Stood Still" -  21 percent
  • "Friday the 13th" (2009) - 25 percent
  • "Paul Blart Mall Cop" - 33 percent
  • "Eddie and the Cruisers" - 33 percent
  • "Wise Guys" - 31 percent
  • "Jersey Girl" (1992) - 41 percent
  • "Empire Records" - 23 percent
  • "Pootie Tang" -  29 percent
  • "Coyote Ugly" - 22 percent

Still, there are several movies made or set in New Jersey that had "Rotten Tomatoes" scores higher than President Trump's 45 percent rating:

  • "Atlantic City " - 100 percent
  • "Baby it's You" - 94 percent
  • "A Beautiful Mind" - 75 percent
  • "Chasing Amy" - 88 percent
  • "Cinderella Man" - 80 percent
  • "Clerks" - 88 percent
  • "The Dark Night Rises" - 87 percent
  • "The Freshman" - 93 percent
  • "Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle" - 74 percent
  • "The Wrestler" - 98 percent
  • "Jersey Boys" - 52 percent
  • "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" -  53 percent
