Cell phones have evolved over the years from emergency lifelines to multipurpose mini-computers. Once thought to be a luxury, your mobile device is now a necessity.Smart phones can essentially carry all of your personal information, as well as let you pay bills, update social media, and read newspapers all at once.

According to a Mashable article,

On April 3, 1973 — exactly 40 years from today — Motorola employee Marty Cooper made the first mobile phone call.

Marty used a Motorola DynaTAC to call Bell Labs (then a division of AT&T), reportedly saying "I'm ringing you just to see if my call sounds good at your end."

For people like myself who were still growing up when these developments came to light, it's become somewhat easy to adapt to the improvements and changes Apple, Android, and other developers come up with. For others, it's more of a challenge.
