I was at the Wawa on Five Points Road and Route 33 in Howell to fill up my gas tank with five minutes to spare before the 23-cent-per-gallon gas tax went into effect. Yes, went.

I managed to capture the gas prices change on camera right after the clock struck midnight on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

We still have an outside shot at restoring one of the few remaining benefits to living in New Jersey. It starts by voting NO on question 2 this Election Day. Next, vote these spineless politicians out of office. Any elected official who voted in favor of the 23 cent per gallon hike does not consider your best interest a priority. It's that simple.

There is a silver lining, however. Gov. Chris Christie, who signed the gas tax hike and negotiated it with legislators, will thankfully be out of office in one year and eighty days. This time next year, we will be getting ready to vote in a new governor. It can't come soon enough.
