The spectacle known as the New Jersey budget process begins today.

There will be much talk of tax cuts in Trenton today, as Governor Christie outlines his budget for the next fiscal year. Not long ago he proclaimed New Jersey's fiscal house was in order, but our state still faces a big deficit.

You can expect howls of criticism from Democrats, and the same cries of Christie is for the rich at the expense of the poor.

The fight over how the state spends your money is just beginning. The new fiscal year doesn't begin until July 1. In the weeks between now and then, both sides will be looking for a hammer to clobber each other with heading into next year's elections.
