In something of a surprise move, the Boy Scouts of America announced that they will start accepting girls into the Cub Scouts and that girls will be able to attain the highest rank of Eagle Scout. In a story on CNN.com, the BSA said it was responding to requests from parents to “help consolidate their family activities”.

There is no word on whether the Girl Scouts will start accepting boys or if the BSA has any plans to change their name.
