‘The bass they are a-biting’ — Fishing season is underway in NJ
I took my time going out fishing this season. Too busy doing work on my deck and other family obligations.
I finally got out Monday night. It was cloudy and still and wasn't the most pleasant night to be out on the lake.
No luck for about 20 minutes and was just about to come in when I casted the lure toward the shore in about 3 feet of water, and just let the lure lay on the bottom.
The lure has great action in the water but sometimes the bigger ones just like to pick it off the bottom and eat it. Sure enough after about 20 seconds on the bottom the line started to tighten and I pulled back just enough to set the hook and bam there he was.
Good fight. Nice size. Nice end to the day. Glad I waited!
