The ’89 Malarchuk Injury [VIDEO]

Here's the video of the 1989 Clint Malarchuk skate to the throat injury we were just talking about in our hour on sports injuries. His juggler vein sliced open, likely his team's trainer happened to have served as a combat medic in Vietnam and literally reached inside the wound to pinch off as much of the vein as he could. He lost 1/3 of the blood in his body and it took 300 stitches to close it.
