Temple University was at the center of a frightening scene over the weekend. It was reported that anywhere from 20-100 juveniles took part in a flash mob-style attack on the campus. The attack left students, police officers and a police horse injured.

Temple University alumni and now my colleague on Chasing News, Ashley Hall joined me on air to discuss the incident. "They split into groups of about 20 or 30 kids and just literally wreaked havoc on campus. They were punching students at the university, kicking them to the ground, robbing them. A police officer was also assaulted. Even a police horse, Bill, was literally brought down to the ground and punched in the face," Hall stated.

"People are even comparing it to (the movie) 'The Purge.' It's just totally wild, it really is, Hall continued. Police now are on high alert and patrolling the campus heavily.

The story relates to Jersey because there is a very large contingent of students that attend Temple University from New Jersey and there are many concerned parents who are worried about their kids traveling on that campus right now. "I had nothing but the most positive experience but I will say that I did know that going to that school , you have to have a good head on your shoulders. You have to always be aware and you always have to look at what's going on in your surroundings," Hall said.

I asked Ashley if she had checked in with anyone at the school. Hall responded "I actually did check in with a couple of people just seeing if they were ok and I think everyone is just kind of shocked."

What's amazing to me, is that this entire attack was coordinated on social media. It's extremely disconcerting.
