After scouring a bunch of tech websites I found that  the experts are not predicting anything ground-breaking for technology in 2015.  Lots of technology that is already available, though, will become more commonplace.

As consumers, the main reason why we use advanced technology is cost.  As the technology becomes more common, the price tag normally becomes more affordable.

For example, how about those 3-D printers?

Sure, they've been around for several years and are being used commercially.  According to a CNN article, a consumer version will debut next year.

This particular machine will be called the Foodini.  The 3-D printer will have the capability to create any type of food. Does this mean we won't need kitchens anymore?  Will restaurants and take out become dinosaurs?

The article references that one of those printers will cost around a thousand dollars.

It's also expected that laptops will be introduced with built in 3-D printers.

If you didn't get one of those ultra high definition TV's for Christmas, don't worry. The price tags for the TV's have already dropped dramatically and will continue to fall.

Consumer experts say these state of the art sets are among the fasted selling products in the history of consumer technology.  By the end of the new year the experts predict that almost half of the TV sales will be the ultra hi-definition.

TV stations and cable channels are expected to push ahead with UHD programming during 2015.

The word is that Windows 10 will go on sale in late 2015.  We should know more about that during the spring.

Within the upcoming year, we may see more usage of tablets as personal TV's. Qualcomm has a new chip that enables media to be broadcast directly to a smartphone or tablet.

By springtime Apple will be selling their watch.  In addition to the watch, multiple articles report that Apple will introduce a new ultra thin lightweight MacBook Air.

For those that like technology right on their phones or tablets, there will be all kinds of new apps during 2015 as well.

For example, there's the Zepp Sensor. It's an app-connected smart sensor that can connect to baseball bats, tennis rackets, and golf clubs. The sensor collects information like hand speed and the plane of your swing.  It will then give you a 3-D analysis to improve your game. Before you know it, we'll be able to swing a tennis racquet like Serena Williams or hit a baseball like Mike Trout.

And finally, one more piece of technology that will debut is the TellSpec. This is a gadget that uses a beam of infrared light that measures the composition of food.  It will let you know exactly how many calories, grams of fat, and carbs you consume by waving the device over your food.

Look out for all this fun technology coming your way in 2015!
