Commencement ceremonies at the College of New Jersey in Ewing and Rider University in Lawrenceville will cause traffic delays Thursday night and Friday.

TCNJ's commencement exercises will begin with departmental ceremonies held though out the during the day on Thursday and Friday in buildings around the Ewing campus. The main ceremony for all 1,956 graduates  begins at 5:30 p.m. Thursday inside the school's Lions Stadium.

 

 

Rider University on Route 206 in Lawrenceville will also hold ceremonies for its 148th commencement over two days starting with the Graduate and College of Continuing Studies Commencement ceremony at 5:30 p.m. On Friday the Undergraduate Commencement ceremony for all graduates is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m.

New Jersey Fast Traffic's Jill Myra says delays can be expected on Pennington Road (Route 31) around the campus and also exiting from Interstate 95 at exit 4 for Route 31 for the TCNJ ceremony. On Friday, traffic is likely to be backed up on I-95 to exit 7 for Route 206. Lawrenceville Road will also have slow traffic heading to campus.

 

 

Security will be tight at both ceremonies. Rider is not allowing backpacks, large purses, coolers, duffel bags and any other large bags into the Campus Green for any commencement ceremonies.
