Tens of thousands of people have celebrated the completion of the reading of the Talmud at what was billed as the world's largest synagogue -- at least for one night.

MetLife Stadium was transformed Wednesday as rabbis prayed and gave speeches for about five hours. At one point the religious leaders began singing, wrapping their arms around one another and
rocking on the dais. The crowd joined in.

Portions of the program were somber, though. It was dedicated to victims of the Holocaust.

The celebration marks the completion of the daily reading and study of one page of the 2,711-page book of Jewish laws and traditions. The cycle takes about seven and a half years to finish.
