Today, the State Senate Transportation Committee has approved a bill to let private companies sponsor rest areas along New Jersey highways. The idea is to help ease the burden on taxpayers for maintenance and upkeep. Senator Donald Norcross sponsors the measure.

More people in the Metropolitan area are traveling by air these days.  Air passenger traffic at Newark Liberty, LaGuardia and JFK airports was up 10.2 percent in August compared to the same month last year, reaching 10.8 million passengers and breaking a five year record for the busiest month ever for the Port Authority's airport system.

It Takes a Village; Dunellen Joins DOT Transit Program
The Borough of Dunellen has become the latest municipality accepted into the New Jersey Department of Transportation's statewide Transit Village program.  Acting Governor Kim Guadagno made the announcement today, making the borough the 26th to join the program which will work to revitalize the neighborhood near Dunellen's public transportation facilities.
