October 3rd, 1999 - Tom Jones goes to No.1 with his new album 'Reload', making the singer the oldest artist to score a No.1 album with new material. The album featured a collaboration with DJ Mousse T which was later used in an episode of The Simpsons.

1958 - Elvis Presley gives one last press conference in Brooklyn at the Military Ocean Terminal, with special permission from the Army. He then joined the rest of the 3rd Armored Division on the USS General Randall for a voyage to Bremerhaven, Germany.
