August 30th, 1995 – James Taylor and Carly Simon perform together for the first time in over 20 years. They each played their solo set for 10,000 fans before combining acts in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. It was all for a good cause, raising money for a local agricultural society.

August 23rd, 1967 - While celebrating a wild birthday party at a Holiday Inn, The Who’s drummer Keith Moon accidentally drives a car into the hotel swimming pool. Moon was attempting to avoid having to talk to police

August 9th, 1986 - Queen wraps up what will be their last live performance when they finished their set at Knebworth Park in England in front of 120,000 fans.

August 2nd, 1964, The Beatles appear at the Gaumont Cinema in Bournemouth. One of the supporting acts, billed as a 'new and unknown London group', was The Kinks.

July 19th 1975 - Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band has a marathon rehearsal session the day before kicking off their Born To Run tour. They practiced for a full 19 hours at The Record Plant in New York City to get ready.

June 7th, 1972 - Elvis Presley makes history by performing four sold-out shows at Madison Square Garden. George Harrison, John Lennon, David Bowie, Bob Dylan were among music stars to attended the shows.

May 31st, 1968 - Working on what will become The White album, Yoko Ono attends her first session with The Beatles. Adding overdubs of bass and vocals on ‘Revolution’, and the final six minutes of the song evolving into chaotic jamming with John Lennon repeatedly shouting “alright” and Yoko speaking random phrases.

May 24th, 1968 - The Rolling Stones release the single 'Jumpin Jack Flash' in the UK, the track would give them their 7th No.1 hit in the UK. The lyrics for this song were inspired by Jack Dyer, Keith Richards' gardener. One morning when Keith and Jagger were staying at Keith's country house, Jack had woken them up by walking past their window and Richards uttered the words "Oh, that's Jack -

April 26th, 1980 - Blondie is at No.1 with 'Call Me'. It would be the band's biggest selling single to date and was used in the Richard Gere flick 'American Gigolo'. Originally, Stevie Nicks was asked to compose and perform a song for the movie, but when she backed out, the director chose the Blondie hit.
