June 2nd 1967 - David Bowie releases his self titled debut album in the UK. This is the same day The Beatles, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", came out. "David Bowie" would later be released in the US in August and was a commercial failure at the time.

April 28th 1963 - Andrew Oldham catches a show of The Rollin' Stones at London's Crawdaddy Club. The next day he agrees to manage the band. Oldham saw potential in the group being positioned as "anti-Beatles"
