May 27th 1957 - Buddy Holly releases his only No. 1 hit, "That'll Be the Day." The song had its genesis in a trip to the movies by Holly, Jerry Allison and Sonny Curtis in June 1956.

February 26th 1965 - Guitarist Jimmy Page released a solo single called 'She Just Satisfies' in the UK. Page played all the instruments on it except for the drums, and produced the track, as well as singing lead vocals.
