When a Medford police officer spotted a driver with snow on his car on his way to an emergency the ticket was delivered the next day for the violation.
A weather observer at Reagan National Airport lost a snow-measuring device during the January blizzard but still accurately recorded a snowfall total that was lower than in nearby Washington, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said Thursday.
Meteorologist Dan Zarrow said the snow "had a very hard time sticking. The exception may be in South Jersey, where a band of very heavy snow just barely clipped the coast near Atlantic City early this morning."
