1966 - The Rolling Stones play at the War Memorial Hall in Syracuse. During the performance they allegedly desecrate the American flag by dragging it across the stage.
May 12th
1962 - The Temptations make the charts with their first notable single "Dream Come True." It was written by Berry Gordy Jr. the founder of Motown.
Apr 21st
1969 - Janis Joplin appeared at The Royal Albert Hall in London. The opening act that night was Yes. Joplin was well known for her performing abilities and her fans referred to her stage presence as electric.
March 31st
1964 - Filming for A Hard Days Night, The Beatles played a "live television performance" in front of a studio of screaming fans (one of those fans was Phil Collins).
March 24th
1966 - Simon and Garfunkel made their UK singles chart debut with 'Homeward Bound.' Simon is said to have written the song at Farnworth railway station, Widnes, England, while stranded overnight waiting for a train.
March 18th
1967 - The UK music magazine New Musical Express announced that former Spence Davis Group member Steve Winwood was planning to form a new group with Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason.
December 23rd
1964 - During a US tour Beach Boy Brian Wilson had a nervous breakdown during a flight from Los Angeles to Houston. Wilson left the band to concentrate on writing and producing.
