A new report projects startling consequences for commutes, home values and more if the Hudson River rail tunnel is closed for repairs before new one is built.
The lines were taken out of service in the fall for PTC installation but there was no firm date given by NJ Transit for a resumption of service except for sometime in the second quarter of 2019.
The closest NJ Transit Executive Director Kevin Corbett came to giving a firm date for the resumption of service was between June 15 and June 30, the end of the second quarter timeframe previously offered by the agency.
