Amtrak CEO Wick Moorman, who offered apologies for the recent delays and issues at Penn Station said commuters should expect "two multi-week outage periods this summer but that significant levels of service will continue to operate in the station."
Amtrak, which operates and maintains the Northeast Corridor's tracks and equipment, met with NJ Transit and the LIRR on Thursday to "begin intensive planning" for the coming Penn Station Renewal Program.
