All 12 members of the State Senate Judiciary Committee checked partisanship at the door yesterday as they considered the nomination of Governor Chris Christie's chief counsel, Jeff Chiesa to be the state's next Attorney General.
This morning the State Senate Judiciary Committee unanimously approved Governor Chris Christie’s selection for the state’s next Attorney General. It was a virtual love-fest as panel members took turns lauding Jeff Chiesa and his accomplishments. The full Upper House is expected to rubber stamp Chiesa’s nomination this Monday.
Today, Governor Chris Christie announced changes in his senior staff leadership, moving long-time confidants and advisors to other leadership roles to help him carry out his reform agenda for New Jersey.
New Jersey’s top law enforcement official is resigning and moving on to look into what Governor Chris Christie calls the “gross mismanagement” at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Christie also has another job in mind for outgoing State Attorney General.
