U.S. home prices rose 9.3 percent in February compared with a year ago, the most in nearly seven years. The gains were driven by a growing number of buyers who bid on a limited supply of homes.
In the days and weeks following Superstorm Sandy, there was great concern at the Jersey Shore over the housing market and whether or not the residents near the coast would pick up what was left of their lives and make a mad dash out of New Jersey.
As if there weren't enough troubles for those who lost their homes in Superstorm Sandy, now some renters are finding themselves in a lurch coming up with money for another security deposit; all the while not getting much support from FEMA.
In some areas of the state homes are damaged or destroyed after every major storm. They're often rebuilt in part with the use of tax dollars, both state and federal.
