The call for Chris Christie to voluntarily leave office has grown louder. Now the Star Ledger editorial board has joined the Gannett papers throughout New Jersey in calling on the governor to step down. Unlike Gannett, they stopped short of imploring the public to consider a recall movement.

It was like an SNL skit. Except this was real life.

Governor Christie vetoed a bill in 2014 that would ban smoking at New Jersey beaches. It had overwhelming support on both sides of the aisle. So why didn't they just override his veto? Back then, Republicans were hesitant to challenge Christie. Things could be different now.

It was in the middle of our show yesterday when word came down officially that Governor Christie called it quits for his presidential run. Chris Christie has always been one of those figures that parts a crowd like the Red Sea; you're either on one side or the other, love him or hate him, no in between. Lately more people are hating him. He's used to it.
