New Jersey's suburban office complexes are going the way of the dinosaur, according to one of the state's leading economists. He said millennials and Generation "Y" are the ones driving the workforce and they have no interest in being stuck in an office in the middle of nowhere.

The generation described as "obsessed with technology" and "detached from society" may not understand or appreciate those stereotypes.

Generation Y is more materialistic and less inclined to work hard for what they want, according to a study published this week in the Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin.

They put in their time in college, they graduate and unfortunately, Generation Y is having a tough time finding jobs in their respective fields, so many of them are settling on low-paying work in the retail and service sectors.
