Odd-even rationing for gasoline purchases began Saturday in 12 New Jersey counties: Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Morris, Monmouth, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren.

Motorists across New Jersey faced a second day of stressful, enormous lines Thursday at the few gas stations that still had both electricity and supplies, as power outages kept many pumps out of service and tough travel made fuel deliveries difficult.
