A brush fire that burned nearly 100 acres in the Meadowlands along the western spur of the New Jersey Turnpike was brought under control Wednesday night.
Firefighters continue to battle a wildfire in the Pinelands, that has already charred a thousand acres and another blaze near McGuire-Fort Dix in Lakehurst.
There are indications the massive forest fire in the Pineland could have been set intentionally according to New Jersey Acting Fire Warden Michael Drake.
Two forest fires in the southern New Jersey Pinelands were expected to blacken 400 acres Friday before being contained, the state Forest Fire Service said.
