Gov. Chris Christie said Monday evening that NJ Transit and Amtrak were close to releasing a final schedule for construction work this summer at New York Penn Station.
The governor is also planning a controversial $300 million Statehouse renovation — a move opposed by several legislators and New Jersey 101.5's own Bill Spadea.
Including $6 million more for newborn screenings, fee hikes exceed $26 million. Governor says government costs money and fees are better than broad-based taxes.
Gov. Christie said he was not going to "jump any announcements by the President of the United States" but said opioid addiction is an issue he and President Trump have frequently discussed.
