During last night's "Ask The Governor" show, Governor Christie said when hurricane Sandy slammed Jersey more than 3 weeks ago, "it was a harrowing night and we woke up that next morning to a level of destruction we've never seen in the state's history.
A displaced Sandy victim called in to Townsquare Media's Ask the Governor programtonight expressing frustration that her bad credit was causing her to be denied for temporary housing despite having a FEMA voucher guaranteeing payment of the rent. She posed her issue to Governor Chris Christie for consideration.
Three weeks after Superstorm Sandy slammed the Garden State, clean-up, recovery and rebuilding efforts continue across New Jersey, but it's still not clear how many billions of dollars in damage were caused by the hurricane.
Governor Christie first made mention of the backlog at the Ocean County Department of Social Services on "Ask the Governor" on September 27th, however the OCDHS acknowledges it has been an issue on their radar for a while now.
