A pair of New Jersey lawmakers is working to ensure that those who abuse someone's pet or their own pet are required to literally pay for their actions.
Legislation aimed at strengthening New Jersey's animal cruelty laws was approved by the full Assembly on Jan. 29, and now heads to the Senate for consideration.
