Sweeney, Kean Cordial at Legislative Meeting
NEW JERSEY 101.5
The two party leaders have been feuding for months.
Kean survived an attempt to strip him of his GOP Senate leadership post that came after he backed Sweeney's opponent. After Sweeney won, he publicly questioned his ability to work with Kean.
Kean said Wednesday that he targeted five legislative districts that Republicans had the best chances of winning, including Sweeney's. Democrats kept all five of the seats to retain their 24 to 16 advantage.
Senate Republicans needed to pick up 5 seats to regain the majority.
Gov. Chris Christie, who got his start in politics from Kean's father, backed another senator over Kean Jr.
