LAKEWOOD — A suspicious item was found in a Jersey Shore industrial park, the second such item found in New Jersey in the past day.

The Lakewood Scoop reported that the paint can-type object was found near the Ocean County Recycling Center off New Hampshire Avenue.

The Berkeley Township Hazardous Material investigated the object and deemed the area safe around 11 a.m.,  according to the report.

Hundreds of residents from two apartment buildings were evacuated in Linden on Tuesday night after a suspicious item was found on West St. Georges Avenue. The object, which was described .by Linden Mayor Derek Armstead as two sticks of dynamite taped together, turned out to be a hoax.
