Millburn Family Grateful As Suspect In Home Invasion Video Arrested [VIDEO]
The suspect in the video taped brutal home invasion of a Millburn home was arrested at his girlfriend's apartment in New York City and the family involved is "grateful" to all involved in the investigation.
42-year-old Shawn Custis was arrested in the lobby of a building on 10th Avenue in Inwood in Manhattan where his girlfriend lives according to WNBC TV by police and FBI agents. He was transported to an undisclosed location in New Jersey.
“We are forever grateful to the incredible team of law enforcement officers for their hard work over the past week. Thanks to these heroes, our family can now begin the next chapter of our healing," the husband of the woman beaten in the invasion told WPIX TV. "We also want to thank everyone in the Millburn community, the Millburn Workmoms, and those from across the country for the outpouring of support.”
Part of the brutal attack was caught on the family's "nanny cam."
Custis faces first degree attempted murder changes, first degree robbery, 2nd degree burglary and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Police say the woman suffered a concussion, bruises, chipped teeth and cuts around her mouth. Bail is set at $750,000.
His girlfriend's daughter told WABC TV they do not have cable TV and had no idea about the Millburn attack caught on tape. She was brought to tears after watching the video.
