BOUND BROOK — Police are investigating a robbery of the ShopRite on West Union Avenue Tuesday morning where a man reportedly told a cashier he was armed and demanded money from the register.

The man, who was caught on the store's surveillance video, then took the money he was given and left in a dark-colored sedan, Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson said. The man is described as standing approximately 5 foot 5 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing tan shorts, a black and grey hooded sweatshirt, and white sneakers.

Robertson encouraged anyone with information about the man to call 908-231-7100 or 732-356-0800. The Somerset County Crime Stoppers Inc. is also offering a reward of up to $250. To receive the reward money people with information are encouraged to call 1-888-577-TIPS or submit the information online.
