Sunday Bluegrass Festival Will Benefit ‘People for the Poor’
People for the Poor, is a non profit organization whose sole purpose is to financially assist the homeless shelters and soup kitchens of Atlantic, Camden, Gloucester, Cumberland, Burlington, Counties of New Jersey.
Co-founder Caroline Scerrer stated “According to the Volunteers of America that there are 2,000 kids who are homeless on a DAILY BASIS? The Cathedral Kitchen, the oldest soup kitchen in the US, served over 200,000 meals – 12% were served to kids….these numbers can truly hurt your heart.”
Caroline would sit at my SARCASM Comedy Club in Cherry Hill and take donations after the shows we do do their fundraiser every year. Through an all volunteer effort, People for the Poor, Inc. manages and organizes these fundraisers whose proceeds go to organizations helping individuals have food to eat and a place to sleep.
This Sunday “The Good Old Fashion Bluegrass Festival” will take place in conjunction with the Classic Car Show at Batsto Village RT 542 in Burlington County from 11a-4p. There will be live Bluegrass music, food vendors, Arts and Crafts and you can even go antiquing. The only thing you’ll need is a chair or blanket to sit back, relax and have a great time!
