Well, that's an eventful start to the year.

The Asbury Park Press reports six Saint Dominic students in Brick suffered heat exhaustion during the school's 50th anniversary Opening Day ceremony Tuesday.

The report quotes Principal Carol Bathmann saying as six students were treated, others were directed to a cooling station in the school. The ceremony was shortened, and EMS was notified.

As New Jersey 101.5's Dan Zarrow reports. Tuesday temperatures were set to reach the mid-90s — a potential record-breaking day in some parts of the state, and bogged down by nasty humidity.
