When it comes to New Jersey, as Johnny Cash sang, “I've been everywhere, man.”

I've lived all over this great Garden State. I was born at St Mary's Hospital in Newark. where my mother grew up, then moved with my father to Union City.

Along with my parents, I credit Union City for raising me. When I lived there, we once counted 60 kids all within a five block radius that were all within five years of each other. If you can believe this, we bonded and treated each other like family. Most of what I learned there growing up made me who I am today.

When I was 15, we moved to Marlboro, which initially was a bit of a culture shock. I left a neighborhood that was mostly Italian and Hispanic to one that was predominantly Jewish. However, there were and are a lot of similarities between the two cultures, love of family and friends being on top of the list.

After that, I got married at 21 and we lived in the “Arcade Gardens” in Old Bridge, then the “Country Club Apartments” in Eatontown, followed by 'The American Way Apartments” in East Windsor, then finally Roosevelt where I now live remarried with two beautiful boys.

My wife had a condo in Sewell, where I would stay while we were dating and I was working in Philadelphia, which pretty much covers South Jersey.

As for the shore, every summer growing up, my family would rent a the same house in Ortley Beach every year on 5th Ave. I now own a second house in Sea Isle City. So yeah, when it comes to New Jersey, like the song says “I've been everywhere, man."
