Let's start the weekend off with some good news! Stephen Colbert recently shocked his home state of South Carolina by funding every single teacher request in the state on the education crowdfunding site DonorsChoose.org.

Here's the video of Colbert making the big announcement on Thursday to the students and administration of Alexander Elementary School in Greenville.

What's even cooler is when this video started going viral on social media, so did the generosity. People from all over the nation started donating to help fund teacher requests from their town.

DonorsChoose.org has a pretty cool feature where you can search by zip-code making it very easy to see what teachers in your immediate area are asking for.

Colbert teamed up with Share Fair Nation and ScanSource along with money gained from auctioning off pieces of the set from his previous TV show, The Colbert Report. They were able to fund over 800 teachers in South Carolina at over 375 schools, totaling $800,000.
