“Stay The Night” by Benjamin Orr is this week's pick. The Cars were a successful band of the late 70s through the 80s, with Top Ten hits like “Shake It Up”, “You Might Think”, and “Drive”; their lead singer, Ric Ocasek had a so-so solo career, with one Top Twenty hit, “Emotion in Motion”. Many people don’t remember that their bass player was also a vocalist who sang lead on “Drive”, the Cars highest charting hit. He released one solo album that produced his only Top 40 hit: “Stay the Night”, which peaked at #24 in 1986. (Not to be confused with Chicago’s hit of the same name which peaked at #16 in 1984).
