A cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) led detectives from the New Jersey State Police Digital Technology Investigations Unit to 20-year-old Craig Wyatt Jr. who authorities say admitted to using multiple Facebook accounts, email addresses and phone numbers to communicate with victims.

"He basically would harass the victims, by sending messages telling them that they had a few weeks to live, so they should use their time wisely," said State Police spokesman Sergeant Adam Grossman.

In July of this year, NCMEC notified the New Jersey State Police that an individual using the name Jimmy Raketerra sent a threatening message to a juvenile from Browns Mills, New Jersey.

In August, state police detectives were contacted by the Voorhees Township Police Department for assistance with four separate juvenile victims receiving threats via Facebook. "At that point, a bulletin was sent to all law enforcement agencies across the state to see if there were any other victims," said Grossman. "Twenty-one police departments located additional victims claiming that they were threatened by the same person."

Wyatt Jr. was located and interviewed and the arrest was made. In the meantime, Grossman had a message for any juvenile who has a Facebook account. "If you are ever feeling threatened or harassed in any way while you are online or on Facebook, you should automatically tell your parents and have your parents notify the local police department," he said.

Wyatt Jr. is charged with multiple counts of terroristic threats, theft of services and harassment. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Jail in default of $35,000 bail. Anyone with information that could assist with the investigation is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police at 609-584-5051, ext. 5624.
